3D is the short form of three-dimensional. 3D computer graphics are often referred to as 3D models. Apart from the rendered graphic, the model is contained within the graphical data file. However, there are differences. A 3D model is the mathematical representation of any three-dimensional object. A model is not technically a graphic until it is displayed. Due to 3D printing, 3D models are not confined to virtual space. A model can be displayed visually as a two-dimensional image through a process called 3D rendering, or used in non-graphical computer simulations and calculations.

The 3D animation can be divided into the parts like:Maya

Modeling:
Among the two most common sources of 3D models are those that an artist or engineer originates on the computer with some kind of 3D modeling tool, and models scanned into a computer from real-world objects. Models can also be produced procedurally or via physical simulation. Basically, a 3D model is formed from points called vertices (or vertexes) that define the shape and form polygons. A polygon is an area formed from at least three vertexes. The overall integrity of the model and its suitability to use in animation depend on the structure of the polygons.

Tecturing:
A map of texture is applied to the surface of a shape or polygon. This process is akin to applying patterned paper to a plain white box. Every vertex in a polygon is assigned a texture coordinate either via explicit assignment or by procedural definition. Image sampling locations are then interpolated across the face of a polygon to produce a visual result that seems to have more richness than could otherwise be achieved with a limited number of polygons.

Layout and animation:
Before rendering into an image, objects must be placed in a scene. This defines spatial relationships between objects, including location and size. Animation refers to the temporal description of an object, i.e., how it moves and deforms over time. Popular methods include keyframing, inverse kinematics, and motion capture. These techniques are often used in combination. As with modeling, physical simulation also specifies motion.

Rendering:Nuke
This process converts a model into an image either by simulating light transport to get photo-realistic images, or by applying some kind of style as in non-photorealistic rendering. The two basic operations in realistic rendering are transport (how much light gets from one place to another) and scattering (how surfaces interact with light). This step is usually performed using 3D computer graphics software or a 3D graphics API. Altering the scene into a suitable form for rendering also involves 3D projection, which displays a three-dimensional image in two dimensions.

Autodesk helps people imagine, design and create a better world. Everyone—from design professionals, engineers and architects to digital artists, students and hobbyists—uses Autodesk software to unlock their creativity and solve important challenges.

The different software of Autodesk are:Maya

Maya 2015

Maya 2015 is the integration of the OpenSubdiv Libraries. OpenSubdiv is a huge addition to Maya allowing Maya to take advantage of parallel GPU and CPU processing on Subdivision surfaces. These are the same OpenSubdiv libraries that were open-sourced by Pixar studios. Voxel Geometric Binding is a new skinning method that can bind geometry to joint skeletons. What makes Geodesic Voxel Binding unique is that it can handle really complex meshes easily. Geometric Voxel Binding first voxelizes the input geometry, and uses that voxelization to calculate the binding weights. This is based on the distance between each voxel lying on a bone and all exterior voxels. This produces much smoother weights really quickly – at interactive rates. Because the weighting assignment calculations are separate from the distance calculations, its possible to modify weights interactively at pose time without the need for additional processing.

With the new point cloud support in Max, you can now create more precise models from real world references. 3ds finally gets python scripting, making it easier to integrate 3ds into a python based pipeline environment.Enhancements have been made to ActiveShade with new support for mental ray, in addition to the iRay support. ActiveShade will let artists see instant results from lighting changes and materials, helping them work faster. The viewport in Max has been completely re-written from the ground up and now offers a substantially faster experience, living up to the name “nitrous”. The viewport in Max has a number of improvements that will accelerate navigation, selection, and viewport texture baking, resulting in greater interactivity, especially with dense meshes and scenes with many texture maps. In addition, anti-aliasing can now be enabled with minimal impact on performance.

Image of Japanese Animation

Manga animated films are a huge hit among young Cubans and the characteristic look of its stylized characters, showing triangular heads, flowing straight hair covering part of their faces and large, feline eyes, is imitated by several social groups in the country.

Animated series like Naruto, One Piece, and Hunter X Hunter travel from computer to computer and then onto DVDs in the blink of an eye. To give you a sense of this industry, suffice it to mention that Naruto and One Piece alone have an average of 500 episodes.

Most are fantastic tales involving characters with mental powers or plots that unfold in ancient Japan, where the references to Japanese mythology are constant. For the most part, they are full of action sequences and watched mostly by males. Some of the series most watched in Cuba are Full Metal Alchemist, Devil May Cry and Shingeki no Kyojin.UG & PG Animation Degree

There are also other kinds of series that are very popular among female audiences, the so-called “school series”, where the main characters are young students (almost always in high school) and the most recurrent topic is love.

Comedy series, such as Blood Lad or Kotura-san, tend to be very popular but are quickly forgotten. They are small productions which aren’t sold on DVD, but rather shown on television and uploaded to the Internet. Hence the simplicity of much of their design and its repetitive character types.

Those series with a touch of eroticism and humor (such as B Gata H Kei and KissXsis) are very popular among teenagers of both sexes.

Most of these series are characterized by the superficiality and banality of its characters and plots thn at border on the absurd. Some typical gestures exceed the bounds of caricature and become ridiculous.

Another bothersome aspect of these series is that they tend to stretch out the story like gum and then end it abruptly. This is what happened with Zetsuen no Tempest, which had a promising beginning, but which was ruined because the story was drawn out too much and elements of comedy were added.

Though it may sound contradictory, Mangas aren’t always a waste of time. Zetsuen no Tempest actually motivated me to read Shakespeare, because of its constant references to Hamlet and The Tempest. I read Hamlet in one sitting one night and The Tempest the following day. I became so obsessed with Shakespeare that, in a week’s time, I had already read all of his major tragedies: Macbeth, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet and others.M.A. in Multimedia Animation
