2014 animation movies list

2013 saw some of the most successful animation movies in history and films with good content and storyline being produced. Now, 2014 has in store for us more surprises and new mediums and themes are being worked upon.

Now, here is a list of the animation movies which are going to hit theatres in 2014.Nuke 

The Nut Job

This 3D animation movie is the first animated film in theatres. Featuring a star cast of Liam Neeson, Brenda Fraser, Will Arnett and Katherine Heigl, the movie of rats and squirrels fighting for nuts is going to be a hilarious hit.

The Lego Movie

This Computer Graphics and Stop-Motion movie talks about an ordinary guy who is thought to be the savior of the Lego universe. Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrel. Director/Writer duo of Chris Miller and Phil Lord will surely make this a hit like their previous venture.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman

The legend Rob Minkoff who directed classic films like The Lion King and Stuart Little is back with Mr. Peabody & Sherman, movie about a kid with a dog doing all kinds of adventures. People like Stephen Colbert, Ariel Winter,Ty Burrell, Leslie Mann, Mel Brooks and Max Charles are part of the movie. Antics of kid and dog will surely be a hit.

Rio 2

Carlos Saldanha will redirect Rio 2. With the cast of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Leslie Mann, George Lopez, Jamie Foxx, will.i.am and Andy Garcia, in the film- the trio visits the Amazon.

Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return

This musical animation movie is adapted from Sequel to the beloved American classic by Roger Stanton Baum. The duo Dan St.Pierre and Will Finn directed the movie. Lea Michele, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Dancy, Megan Hilty, Bernadette Peters, Dan Aykroyd, Tom Kenny and Martin Short gave the voice talent.

How to Train Your Dragon 2

The second of the three part movie, How to Train Your Dragon 2 is directed by Dean DeBlois. The screenplay is from books by Cressida Cowell. Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jay Baruchel,  Jonah Hill, T.J. Miller, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Kristen Wiig have lended voice in the film.

Planes 2

The sequel to Planes is directed by legend Bobs Gannaway. With the music of Mark Mancina, the film has Dusty doing more adventures. Julie Bowen, Lil Dipper and Dane Cook gave voices in the film.

The Boxtrolls

Another nice stop-motion film after Coraline. The story is about a boy who is raised up by creatures dwelling in sewage. It is taken from the book Here Be Monsters! by Alan Snow. The voice cast includes Elle Fanning, Nick Frost, Ben Kingsley, Toni Colette and Simon Pegg. The film is made by director-duo Graham Annable and Anthony Stacchi.

Book of Life

Directed and co-written by Jorge Gutierrez, Book of Life is a love story at Mexico. The film has voices of Kate del Castillo, Ron Perlman, Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna, Christina Applegate and Ice Cube.

Big Hero 6

The film is scripted by Jordan Roberts and directed by Don Hall, the story is about a young boy Hiro Hamada and his companion robot Baymax which is set in metropolis of San Fransokyo.

Song of the SeaMaya 

Taken from Irish Folklore this film is directed by Tomm Moore. The storyline has a brother-sister duo moves from village to the city following the disappearance of their grandmother. The voice cast has Lisa Hannigan, Fionnula Flanagan, Jon Kenny and David Rawle.
